Australia's air travel industry, while navigating through the challenges of 2020, saw varied user engagement across its top apps in the fourth quarter of the year. This report, derived from Sensor Tower data, provides a snapshot of the performance of these applications.

Qantas Airways maintained a steady increase in downloads starting from 4K in late September to over 6K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users also saw a growth trend from 38K to over 40K in the same period.

Similarly, Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker experienced fluctuating revenue, with a peak at $7.6K in late September and a dip to around $5K in late November, before rising again to $6.8K by the year's end. The app's downloads and active users showed a slight upward trend from 3.5K downloads and 22K active users to 5.3K downloads and over 23K active users, respectively.

Jetstar saw downloads climb from 1.5K to over 4K, with weekly active users increasing from 3.3K to 5.5K throughout the quarter.

For Virgin Australia, downloads oscillated, peaking at nearly 4K in early October and ending the quarter with a similar figure. The app's active users showed a slight decrease from 14K to 12K.

Lastly, Virgin Australia entertainment demonstrated a strong download growth from 1.5K to over 5.6K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users also increased from 18K to over 21K in the same timeframe.
